Hello-
Have not posted on here in a while but I am still alive and kickin'!
I finally found a doctor in Texas who would perform the Essure procedure on someone (no matter the age) who has never had kids. If you live in Texas and want more info, send me a private message.
I did not get the Essure procedure done though. (Insurance wouldnt cover enough of it and all that.) But, I did get the Mirena IUD and I have never been better! I had the biggest cramps of my life during the procedure and after it was in. But, it's been 5 days and I do not feel it in or feel crampy anymore. Best part: It lasts for 5 years!
One of the best decisions I've ever made. Take Care Y'all!

I am trying to get one of those. The only doctor at our practice that does them is away for weeks so will have to try one of the family planning places, i was on Depo and we came off that as it was horrible... anyway hubby and i are tired of abstaining now.

I would just caution you that for some time we had a disguised Mirena salesman pushing it on this board, then banned, so don't take anything here about it at face value and thoroughly check it out with doctors and every other way.

Mirena salesman? That is terrible. Lol Funny in a way though. Just wanted to add that I had the Copper Paraguard put in yesterday and my cramping is fading already. Still about half as bad as they ever were when I was a teen but there is more time between cramping now. Btw menstrual cramps are not normal. It is an indication that something is wrong in your body. For me it was a gluten intolerance. Life without cramps has been glorious. Getting the IUD in was unpleasant but not the end of the world by any means. The doctor gave me double the normal dose of Misoprostol, 200 mg and it helped tremendously with the pain. I usually hate PAPs and climb the ceiling during them. I barely felt anything this time around. Took 800 mg of ibruprofen before the procedure too. Preemptive strike as it were... Now the sounding and the IUD placement...they are another matter. Felt that, but the Doc said it was a mild pain compared to the reactions she usually gets from women. I've been bleeding lightly ever since too. This is normal for a few days. The Copper one has no hormones so that is what appealed to me. I hope it works out.
