You probably heard something about this story back when it first happened. Two young boys brutally raped an 8 year old girl, one holding her head with his knees while the other anally raped her. When police arrived, the father of the rape victim was pulling her around by her ear and saying it was her fault and everything and they understood him to say she had dishonored the family. She was put in protective custody. Now, the two boys have been placed in foster care. The judge said one, they might be able to rehabilitate, but not the other, that the other was incompetent.
Now the Ligerian community is rallying around the parents and a pastor is trying to convince the judge that it was all a linguistic misunderstanding about the little girl and her father, but the police not only heard but saw how she was being treated just after being brutally raped, so they are not buying it. Of course, the parents of the boys are outraged at having their sons taken from them. CNN had a tape of the scene outside the courthouse. One of their mothers was about 9 months' pregnant with another child she no doubt won't raise to be a good person. This stuff really gets to me. This community is supporting these people as if what they did was no big deal AND they're ostracizing the female at the same time. Sick, sick, sick.
