I dunno if anyone else here had seen Dr. Phil about two days ago but he had those annoying "Dr. Phil family" people on. He was talking alot to the mother of those two young adult daughters in dysfunctional situations. Apparently this woman was being yelled at and treated very disrespectfully by her two entitled, spoiled daughters. Doc Phil was trying to talk some sense into her - that she needed to be tougher and not let herself be stepped on.
The woman sat there with a sad, pathetic look in her eye and smiled weakly from time to time as she admitted she felt helpless and overwhelmed. What struck me as most sad was the fact that this woman totally gave up her identity - everything she enjoyed in life & everything that made her an individual to cater to her ungrateful dysfunctional family. Parenthood looks like complete sacrafice and torture - giving up one's dreams, goals and identity to me is like throwing one's life away. Being dead and numb inside - that's the expression in that lady's eyes.
I know for me, that lifestyle would eat me up, kill me inside. I don't have the type of personality to manage a group of kids & deal with screaming, nonsense & games. I would cease to exist - that is why I wasn't given the maternal urge to reproduce! Maybe that makes me somewhat odd as far as being a "real" woman but I can only be true to myself. I was never willing to take that gamble on motherhood - call me selfish but there it is!

Yes, I've been watching that saga. They're all just a mess. That mother doesn't seem weak overall, but I think she must have raised those kids as friends not as a parent because they treat her like a little sister, not a mother and walk all over her. That Alexandra is the most manipulative deceiptful selfish stupid B*TCH I've ever seen. It's all about her, her, her, but if she makes a bad decision, then that was God's will. Even Dr. Phil, who normally supports religiosity, told her off on that subject. I don't know what's wrong with that mother because it's not real obvious, but she just lets them all walk all over her. At this point, it's just baby blackmail or she might have cut Alexandra loose by now. I don't think Alexandra has ANY business with ANY kids and that even her lame ex husband makes a better parent than she does.

What blows me away is how Alexandra cries about having to choose between paying the water bill or the light bill. There's no excuse for having 3 kids in her situation. It's her decisions now. Stop having kids, go to work, and find a man who brings home some steady money. Erin is just worn out. I can imagine that in the moment, she doesn't have the energy to fight her daughters. She has problems too, and i think that she was cold towards her children early on, and they are pushing back.
