It went on HLN just now and they said her and the family moved apartments last month and that it's possible she was even more depressed and isolated feeling because of that. One reporter had interviewed people from the old apartment, which was a close-knit mixed middle eastern community (they believe the killer is Pakistani, though I thought that was an Indian name - who knows). Said she seemed like a pretty good mother, always kept her kids with her when outside, that not everyone did when they just ran out for something or to chat. Now, just overnight, the uncle (father still no comment) is saying she was hearing voices. I'm sure this is at the behest of attorney, since it's her only possible defense. I do not think it is going to fly this time unless there is a documented mental history through doctors because her motives were clear on her 911 call, simply that she wanted normal children. Certainly no one who does this is balanced, but the legal question is did she know right from wrong. Certainly it was premeditated, so she can forget about an "act of passion/temporary insanity" defense. I believe it's possible whe was in deep depression, but the worrisome detail is her flat demeanor is a dead ringer for sociopath/psychopaths everywhere. When asked what she was feeling: Nothing. For a sociopath with no capacity for empathy, this is true. I speculate she may have been in a trapped type existence with her spouse and taken what she saw as the safest way out, unburdening herself from the kids and then calling 911, rather than calling him. I have to believe that was her greatest fear. Not sure it will all ever come out unless female friends open up about anything they know.
