I read the book the Ten Year Nap about women who give up their jobs and stay at home to look after their kids(stay at home mothers don't threaten me-I would hate it and I am not a homebody).
However, I like this description of children and all their activities and their mothers(though this stress on activities is probably good for Native New Yorker).
"Many of the boys and girls of America were not as oversubscribed and over extended as executives. Their mothers were their secretaries running slightly behind them as they went from piano lessons to paper-making to martial arts to the homes of of other children and then back into the world."

Ugh! I'd shoot myself if that was me!

You know, that's a choice they make, and they do it so that they can at least have that 45 minutes without a kid on their hip to run to the store without all the crying and constant chatter. So they would rather run and drop them off and then have a few minutes alone, I think.
