A few days ago, Chelsea Handler mentioned this story on her show Chelsea Lately. She is always griping about kids and she really went off on this story. She even commented on Heather McDonald's (who I love) story about taking her own kids to PF Chiang, where Heather said one crawled over the top of a tall booth into the next party's table. Chelsea called her selfish for taking her kids there just because that's what she wanted to do. One of the male panel, whose name I have trouble with, said when he was young, if your parents took you to a restaurant and you acted up, they took you outside immediately and that his kid wouldn't dare do it because he'd get in his face and make a direct threat to his wellbeing. I guess her show is the only one on tv with the guts to do that, and it's only because she's on late nite. At least there has been some acknowledgement that the current crop of parents are overstepping and not training their kids enough.

Reading the comments made on this article and the comments made in regards to the restaurant in PA, on several different blogs, it seems like more and more people are just getting fed up with unruly brats and the breeders who make no attempt to control them.
It's just gotten to the point where I can't go anywhere without hearing screaming kids. And most of the time, their breeders make no attempt to quiet them or control them.
I blame the businesses too. For too long management in stores, restaurants, etc. has turned a blind eye and a deaf ear to disruptive children. They don't hesitate to deal with disruptive adults, but they don't say a word to breeders with disruptive children.
Part of the problem, too, is the attitude of entitlement most of today's parents seem to have. They think that their children should be welcome in adult venues, and don't care enough to either leave them home or take them to a more child-friendly place.
But when enough people get fed up, things will start to change, and I think it's beginning now. I'm just waiting for the breeders to start screaming DISCRIMINATION....

A follow-up article find favorably not just by childfree folks but parents, too, for banning kids. Be sure to sign up and comment on this. It's the Washington Post. It could be the start of something good, you never know. I posted, but my post posted before I was done, so it's going to look funny and now it won't let me go back on. wapo.st/nexAKx
