I had been looking forward to eating out all weekend as a treat, and so today I went to my favorite barbecue joint. There was a table of about 12 people, a third of which were kids. On the very end was about a 2 yr old boy who was sick as crap and doing that awful and nearly constant wet coughing, and it was very loud. It was just disgusting. The stupid mother knew no one at the table could be appreciating her bringing a sick kid to the gathering, and when he would cough, she would put her hand up before his face, but by then, he'd already coughed. The father kept making excuses to get up (he was sitting right by the kid) and walking around. Besides having this very unappetizing thing going on, I mainly just felt sorry for the kid that he wasn't home in bed where he belonged. He wasn't making any other noise. Just the coughing was taking all his energy. I just don't understand how there can be a table of 12 people and one of them doesn't say, "Your son should be home in bed" if not "We'd rather not expose ourselves to that." Honestly, do you remember how crappy you felt when you had a nasty wet cough like that when you were a kid, certainly not like being drug around town.

Yes, I've seen the same thing again & again. Same goes for kids at any adult function, especially late evening events. They look so bored & tired, but the parents are oblivious to the fact that they should take the kid home, give him/her a nice bath and be tucked into a cozy, clean bed. Ya gotta feel sorry for these poor little urchins that have such dumb, selfish mommies/daddies. I just don't understand, I really don't.

Sometimes people take their sick kids to work and expose everyone too infection.
