abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2012/04/are-these-texas-rangers-fans-the-worst-sports-fans-ever/#comment-7890601Yes, this is the kind of mentality I am living with in this town. A couple caught a ball at a baseball game. They are pretty much oblivious to the screaming tantrum going on next to them by a baby who thinks they should give him the ball. All this is caught on the big screen, of course, so now the media is calling them the worst sports fans ever, but a surprising number of comments on the blog above come to their defense. I thought you might want to as well. What ridiculous drivel! One of the networks was saying that this ball was EVERYTHING to this kid, and I'm saying, well, if a baby thinks a ball is everything, which I seriously doubt he thought it was any different than any other ball, then the bad couple are the parents who brainwashed him and drug him to a noisy several hour ballgame when he is only a baby and obviously is going to be cranky from needing a nap and some comfort. Ultimate stupidity.

That's the kind of mentality everywhere in this country--the almighty child, placed on a pedestal in the middle of the universe.
Now, this entitled brat's stupid breeders have taught him that all he has to do is throw a tantrum to get what he wants. Throw a tantrum and the world will bow and scrape at his feet. Ugh!

I saw this on the news.......my question is >>>what the he!! is a little kid doing at a baseball game? He is way to young to attend a big sporting event. There's nothing wrong with taking a 10 or 12 year old, but this little kid > NO, he's way too young ! And just cause he missed the ball, he's acting like he was shot in the foot..... Now that would have been a perfect time for daddy to explain that a person doesn't ALWAYS get what one wants. A fact of life. But in the end he got a ball given to him anyway....so, now he knows all he has to do is scream his head off and he'll get whatever he wants. Discusting, very discusting.

I had lunch with a friend who is on the side of the parents of the child. She says now they're on tv sayiing just to leave them alone, because there has been a backlash, but she didn't know the parents had gone on tv whining about the ball thing and just kept the story alive by doing so. She also said the kid, a baby, has been taught all the ball players' names. So at least one of the parents is a total fanatic pumping that kid full of sports mania. My friend said one day he'd be playing in the big leagues making lots of money, and I said he's just be one of the guys who paints their faces in the crowd.
