So I was shopping today and I pulled my cart into the check out line. At the checkout line there are lots of things to not only entice adults but children as well. So this little boy say 7 or 8 was sitting on the isle way floor tinkering about. He was being a child just doing his thing.
His mother on the other hand was self absorbed in her consuming. I waited for her to at least look for her child to be near her. About 5 minutes past and nothing changed, I feel sorry for the little boy. For all she knew I could have been some ass to kidnap her kid.
Finally she looks over and she says with distain in her voice. "That lady is waiting for you to move would you get up?" So totally made her child the heavy, this little boy who was just doing what little boys do, tinker!
I was so furious I wanted to kick that bitch's teeth in for making her son the heavy. I felt like saying "No bitch I'm waiting for you to give a f*ck about where your kid is located. I'm waiting for you to guide YOUR child as to where he should be. I'm waiting for you to be the parent you signed up for."
Stooopid woman!

don't know if it helps but a 7 or 8 year old should be expected to notice he is in the way and move out of the way - it is good manners which patently this mother expected of her child

Yeah, but they have to be TAUGHT it first. The way I read this -- and I see this all the time where I live -- is the parent only said something because she thought she better or the other person was going to. In other words, she probably doesn't instruct her boy consistently and is only teaching him to behave when she's under pressure to.
Where I live, we have different cultures, and they are all different in what standards they meet as far as this type of thing. One is much more lax and generally tend to just let children, especially the little boys (they're gender-biased), do whatever they want and consider it man-ish for them to act up and be loud and obnoxious. Also, the mothers are usually very young and probably need discipline themselves, so that plays into it. But every culture has different ways. It makes it hard because they are all in school together and picking up habits from each other - for better or worse! That's just another reason why business establishments need to set their own standards - because it really has spun out of control in the last decade.
