FAQ: How to Post Photos on This Message Board
Posting photos can be a great way to share photos of your pets, partner, local landscape, etc. with others on the site. Here are a couple of ways to do it...
1. To start you need to host your image(s) somewhere else first.
Photobucket.com offers free accounts as does Imageshack. (There's also a list of other free photo hosts here.)
2. Once you signup and upload your photos on your free photo hosting account, just reply to a post related to the subject matter of your photo or create a new post as usual.
3. Then, to post your photo, just click on the little icon at the top of your posting box that looks like a little painting (the 4th icon on the second row of the icon buttons).
This is what the icon looks like-->
4. You'll now see a bit of code appear in your post that looks like:
[*img][*/img]
(only without the asterisks)
just paste the web address where your photo is stored (for Photobucket, use the one called Direct Link) between the [*img][*/img] tags
ie.
[*img]www.photobucket.com/test.jpg[*/img].
and when you submit or preview your post (by clicking on the POST MESSAGE or PREVIEW buttons below your post) the photo will become instantly visible. Voila!
Method 2 for Photobucket:
EASY COPY/PASTE METHOD FROM PHOTOBUCKET:
Photobucket has a link list below each photo of 4 insertion formats. The last one, you will see, has "IMG" in the link string. That is the one you need for this board. Just go to Photobucket, find your photo, and then click on the IMG string below that photo (the last one). It will automatically copy it just by clicking on it and will tell you it has done so. Then all you have to do is go straight to this board, to the entry where you want to insert the photo and hit Control V on your keyboard to paste the photo into the entry.
